Sanctus Builders is a Christchurch renovation builder based in Waltham, run by Felipe Jacundino. Felipe has more than nine years in construction, seven of them as a project manager on government housing work, and started Sanctus Builders to do things differently: honest pricing, real communication, and work he's happy putting his name to.
Felipe grew up around the trade, working for his parents' construction company through high school and after graduation, then working as a builder himself and helping in their marble benchtop business. That gave him years of seeing what actually works on a job site, and what doesn't.
He wanted to build something of his own, where customers who raise an issue get listened to and it gets properly addressed, not swept under the rug.
Working for someone else meant good ideas about running a job better and communicating properly with clients kept getting put to one side. Starting Sanctus Builders meant he could actually put those ideas into practice instead of shelving them.
The jobs he enjoys most are the bigger ones, a full home renovation or a total makeover, where he can see a family's place transformed from start to finish. After every job, he asks himself the same question: what would have made it better, and what can he do differently on the next one.
Felipe started Sanctus Builders to do things the way he'd always believed they should be done: efficient, communicative, and built on real craftsmanship, rather than ideas getting shelved to keep things running the old way. He's kept everything valuable he learned from years in the trade, and built a business around it that's accountable to the customer, not to how things have always been done. No overpricing, just solid, honest work from Felipe and the trusted people he brings in when a job needs an extra set of hands.
Sanctus Builders is built around three principles: truth, glory and peace. When a job needs an extra pair of hands, Felipe brings in people he already trusts, so the standard stays the same whoever's on site, and you're dealing with one project manager rather than juggling several trades yourself.
Clear pricing and straight communication, from the first quote to the final invoice.
Workmanship Felipe is happy to put his name to, on every job he takes on.
One point of contact throughout the job, so nothing gets lost between trades.
